Welcome to the Solomons Island Yacht Club!

The Solomons Island Yacht Club was chartered in 1937 as a private, yachting-centered social club espousing the values of friendliness that have characterized the Solomons area for more than a century. In fact, the club has become known as one of the friendliest yacht clubs on the Chesapeake Bay.

The place for great times on and off the water

One of the oldest yacht clubs on the Bay, SIYC was founded on the local community’s deep maritime history and love of boating. The club continually offers camaraderie and fun times on and off the water for our members and their guests with an active schedule of cruises and special events.

SIYC members also view the club as part of a vibrant community and come together to help meet the needs of our Solomons neighbors by volunteering and supporting local charities and events.

Our clubhouse and piers are tucked into the Patuxent River’s Solomons Island with quick access to the marvels of the Bay and its tributaries. Solomons has a natural harbor, ideal for sail and power boats alike. This serene spot also makes SIYC convenient for boaters transiting up and down the Bay.

Our clubhouse is within walking distance of dozens of local points of interest – restaurants, bars, churches, shops, marinas, and the Calvert Marine Museum with its inspiring exhibits for boaters, history buffs and admirers of the Chesapeake Bay.

We invite prospective members to learn about SIYC membership, and we welcome members of other yacht clubs, the America’s Great Loop Cruisers’ Association, and the Marine Trawler Owners Association. Plan to visit whether by boat or car, on your own or with a cruising group.
